Q: |
How do I enter my "Available Capacity"? |
A: |
It's easy. You have 3 ways to enter your available capacity: |
1. Use The CargoTel Network Web Service. This is an automated process and is the most efficient method of notifying the Network of your available capacity and your deliveries. |
|
2. Upload a spreadsheet containing your available capacity into the system |
|
3. Manually enter your available capacity and statuses into the system, using our web page. |
|
Q: |
What is meant by "Available Capacity"? |
A: |
Available capacity is how much room you have on your trucks (on the outbound and/or backhaul leg), the location of the trucks, and desired destination. It is basically the room you have on your trucks for additional vehicles. |
Q: |
What information is included in "Available Capacity"? |
A: |
Location of your trucks, desired destination of your trucks, type of truck/trailer, tie-down type, number of available slots, due dates for each truck to its desired destination (optional). |
Q: |
What do I do if my truck is no longer available? |
A: |
You may cancel it. |
Q: |
Am I able to submit bids to move loads? |
A: |
Yes, if the load is open for offer (meaning that it does not have a fixed cost requirement). |
Q: |
Can I enter more than one Available Capacity at a time? |
A: |
Yes. |
Q: |
After I submit a offer to move a load, can I change the offer? |
A: |
Yes, but you must do so before a shipper has assigned the load to you. |
Q: |
What do I do if I have a negative experience with a Shipper? |
A: |
For each load, you have the opportunity to indicate whether or not you were satisfied. If a shipper receives a lot of unsatisfactory feedback, you'll be able to see that prior to accepting any loads from them. |
Q: |
Does CargoTel offer a transport management system (TMS) that is integrated with its Network? |
A: |
Yes. Shipments that are assigned to you are automatically sent to TMS, greatly reducing manual entry. Also, if the shipper is using TMS (or CargoTel's Select Carrier System, SCS), when you update the status of the shipment, they will receive that information automatically. That will virtually eliminate the need for phone or other communication. |
Q: |
Does the Network allow me to empty slots on a trailer? What about totally empty trailers? |
A: |
Yes. When entering an "Available Capacity", simply indicate how many open slots you have. |
Q: |
Can I enter "Available Capacity" for different types of transport vehicles, like tow trucks? |
A: |
Yes. |
Q: |
Are carriers graded on how well they perform? How? |
A: |
Carriers are graded by Satisfaction % (grades by previous shippers using that carrier) and also by transit performance (% on time service). You can see their grades prior to selecting the best matching carrier. |
Q: |
What happens if I am having a hard time getting paid by a Shipper? |
A: |
Contact them directly. CargoTel does not get involved in billing or payment disputes. If you are dissatisfied with the shipper's response, give them an unsatisfactory rating for the shipment(s) involved. |
Q: |
Once I make an offer on or accept a load from a Shipper, are there any automated communications? |
A: |
Yes. There are automated emails between the parties for bidding, assignment, and confirmation. The emails allow you to take specific actions by clicking a link within the email. |
Q: |
How does a Shipper decide which Carrier to select? Is it simply based on lowest cost? |
A: |
The shipper can see the cost, the carrier's on time percentage within that transport lane, and the satisfaction % based on shipper feedback. The shipper can also see how many out of route miles you must travel to pickup and deliver the load. |
Q: |
A lot of load matching sites are full of brokers. Do you have any direct Shippers on the Network? |
A: |
Yes. |
Q: |
If I receive a shipment from a network shipper, is there an easy way for me to receive or generate documents, such as a bill of lading? |
A: |
Yes. You may receive an email with a link to access pertinent documents. |
Q: |
Are all network shipments ready to pick up? If not, how do I verify with the shipper that the vehicle(s) are ready to go? |
A: |
Most of them are. However, shippers also have the ability to book loads that will be available within 30 days. |
