Profile: Auto Industry
CargoTel has versions of its TMS, Inventory and wireless MobileTel software
designed specifically for the auto industry. It's used in almost all facets
of automobile logistics including:
TMS (Transport): TMS is a carrier's or auction's transport management system. It includes benefits that are specifically applicable to the auto industry such as VIN-decoding, automated key/availability checks, storage-fees processing, load building based on vehicle size, image-based and industry-standard vehicle inspections (e.g. location, damage and severity codes), auto-invoicing, and driver settlements including damage holdbacks. Shipper/Broker: Shipper/Broker provides many of the benefits as TMS but is focused on the party contracting with transporters. Automotive-specific benefits include VIN-decoding, automated key/availability checks, storage-fees processing, and VIN tracking. IMS (Inventory): IMS is typically a processors management system. Vehicle statuses such as inspection, battery check, wash, etc. can be customized according to customer requirements. Auto-specific billing types are built into system. Inventory Wireless (Marshalling): Wireless system is typically combined with IMS, but can be provided on an unbundled basis. Employees in the field use low-cost handheld devices to scan VINS, update vehicle statuses and conduct industry-standard inspections (e.g. location, damage and severity codes). Driver Wireless: Wireless system is typically combined with TMS, but can be provided on an unbundled basis. Drivers use low-cost handheld devices to receive order and vehicle information, update statuses, conduct industry-standard inspections (e.g. location, damage and severity codes), and print manifests and auto-specific BOLS. Please see Demos of these products for a view how they work in an automotive environment. |
